10 Apr 2008 Two projects I worked on at Odopod have recently launched: IDEO Eyes Open and White Gold. A new site for Harrell Fletcher has also launched: Some People . . . 13 Jan 2008 One of the first projects I have done with Odopod (and definitely the longest) has finally launched! Clif Bar. . . . 9 Dec 2007 I did an interview about LTLYM, you can read it here. I'll be launching a new website with Harrell Fletcher sometime early next year too. . . . 18 Sep 2007 Jeezus, I never update this thing anymore. Kind of pathetic huh. Launched this a little bit ago for Odopod. And just did this over the weekend. Learning To Love You More has a book coming out, Brian did the design. . . . 28 Jan 2007 Stephen Malkmus launches. . . . 30 Jul 2006 Am in NYC for another week, working on Come Together. The past two weeks have been great, and each day seems to get better, so it will be an exciting Saturday I think. If you are in the NYC area on August 5th, please stop by The Kitchen. Odopod and I are finally official, and I will be starting fulltime when I get back to California, my home. As exciting as New York City is, I am realizing that I am a California girl at heart. I did the artwork for the new Our Lady of the Highway record, "Kill You With Numbers." Good tunes, pick up a copy if you can. . . . 23 Mar 2006 At some point I'll be starting work on the new website for Steve Malkmus. Waiting for the planets to align, the tulips to peek out and old-fashioned timing. I'm ready though. . . . 17 Mar 2006 Will be spending a few weeks in July/Aug working with Harrell Fletcher at his summer workshop at The Kitchen in NYC. More info here. In the meantime, I'll continue to be at Odopod, where I'm having a blast. . . . 25 Feb 2006 Currently spending time with Odopod, where I work on NikeSoccer and watch my co-workers skateboard during lunch. No complaints. Still playing soccer and foosball whenever possible and always trying to catch up on work! . . . 5 Jan 2006 Let's here it for the year of the dog! 2006 is going to be magical, I can feel it. Can you? . . . 19 Jul 2005 Sorry for the break. I'm recovering from back surgery which I had yesterday. It went really well and now my back is all better. Not many new things to report, all of my projects are humming right along! If you have a chance please go see my friend Miranda's movie, out now: Me and You and Everyone We Know . . . 5 May 2005 Almost 35 yrs old now. Doesn't look like France will be happening this year, and this makes me sad. However, maybe I will go to Japan and Australia instead? If anyone is reading this, you MUST go and see Miranda July's film called Me, You and Everyone We Know out on June 17th. Please see this film. . . . 20 Apr 2005 Just launched the new Sleater-Kinney website, just in time for their new record due out May 24th. Job is going well, kitties are good. . . . 15 Mar 2005 Lots of new things happening in our corner of the world. I just started my first fulltime job in over two years! I'm a designer over at Tickle, the people known for the popular online IQ and personality tests. I'll be working on their Matchmaking site. It's kind of fun working at a "dot-com" - I'm a little late to the game, but that's how it usually is with me. Other things taking up most of time are the Sleater-Kinney redesign and running their merch shop. Also of course LTLYM and misc freelance work. Helena and I will be hosting a one-night exhibition and party for the Garment Remake Exchange (SF/OAK 2005) this Saturday at Queens Nail Annex in SF. Juggling, juggling is the name of the game these days. . . . 2 Feb 2005 Just mailed off my piece to Sharilyn for the scrap paper project. It was nice to be in the shed again, drawing (or in this case, typing). Miranda just premiered her film at the Sundance Film Festival to great success and was awarded the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision. Look out, here she comes. . . . 26 Jan 2005 Very exciting things happening... I am organizing a project called the Garment Remake Exchange with Helena Keeffe, where people in SF and Oakland exchange clothing and remake them. We are currently putting out the call for participants, so if you are interested please email me. (You have to be in either SF or Oakland) I am contributing a piece for A Lovely Scrap Paper Project, being organized by the very talented Sharilyn Wright, maker of beautiful and inspiring things. She is mailing out scraps of paper to folks for drawing, cutting, etc and then we send back the finished pieces for her to exhibit. It will be nice to draw again after all of these years. I plan on re-integrating that part of my making world into the daily routine for spring and summer. My little yellow shed in the backyard will be humming. This spring I will be introducing a new line of bags for Good Together. It will be the first of many "artist edition" bags that will involve my stitching and a friend's drawing/imagery. The first line will be a collaboration between myself and Tsilli Pines, a super designer/artist/maker who also happens to live on my side of the bay. We will be introducing three bag designs that are gonna knock your socks off, so get ready. . . . 11 Jan 2005 Apologies for the lack of updates - lots of travelling and spurts of sickness have kept me away from saying hello. I've relaunched Good Together and am working on a collaboration with Helena Keeffe called the Garment Remake Exchange. 18 folks from either side of the bay will swap one item of clothing and remake it to their discretion. It should be lots of fun, and hopefully we'll get some press out of it. I'm making the website for it and gathering up east bay designers for the project. More to come soon, I promise. . . . 20 Nov 2004 Returned a little bit ago from a week-long artist residency at Rhodes College, where Harrell and I were invited to do a show for Learning To Love You More. Memphis Tennessee is a very interesting town. The Church of God In Christ annual convention was going on, and I went to see the Civil Rights Museum, which was very thought/feeling-provoking. It was a good visit. Been very busy taking care of the Sleater-Kinney shop, shipping out orders to all over the world. People seem to like my new design, now adorning tshirts, hoodies and totebags. Josh and I are running out of living space. I am also furiously making things for Good Together holiday craft shows, which are coming up quick. . . . 25 Oct 2004 Just came back from PDX to see the S-K girls play some new songs before embarking to the woods to record. It was super fun, but I came home with a low-grade fever, which refuses to go away. The travelling continues to Memphis in a week or so with Harrell to install a show at Rhodes College for Learning To Love You More. We are going to make videos, eat vegetarian Vietnamese food and go to church. Should be good. Going to launch the online shop for S-K soon to sell tshirts and other wearable merchandise. I did a design for one of their new shirts and am very excited to see indie kids sporting my drawing all across the globe. . . . 09 Oct 2004 Oh Goodness, apologies for the lack of updates to this site, both in words and visuals. Should this be a blog? Maybe so in the new year, we shall see. Days are being spent sewing and getting ready for holiday craft shows, running errands, feeding four cats and lots of computer time. Projects in the hopper right now are for Learning To Love You More (always a constant), William Wegman, Brad Mossman and CWonkus. Eri and Dan just got married in Hawaii, and Mari and Jesse are next up in May. Then all the Ono girls shall be married off. Going to Memphis soon with Harrell for LTLYM at Rhodes College, but first a few days in Portland to visit friends. . . . 29 Jun 2004 Time flies quickly these days. We are off to our annual France getaway soon, a little early this year. New things are the redesign for Miranda July, Christine Burgin and (soon) new websites for the artist William Wegman, BMossman and Isota Records. Very exciting. Meanwhile, Learning To Love You More keeps getting bigger and bigger. . . . 09 May 2004 I had a terrible birthday. 34 now. . . . 24 Apr 2004 I'm still not tired of this design, are you? Went to NYC for a few days and had a great time with my sisters. The Whitney Biennial show had many strong pieces/artists, and it was packed. Everyone is saying that it's one of the best ones yet. Our piece was getting alot of attention from show visitors, and there has been alot of positive press. I've been busy with L2LYM updates (over 1000 reports now!), new web projects like a redesign for the Christine Burgin Gallery, Miranda July and other things. Also making more products for Good Together. And, I'm totally obsessed with playing soccer. . . . 09 Mar 2004 Spring has landed in Oakland. It's very nice and unusually warm here. We're enjoying it while it lasts. If you are in NYC anytime between now and the end of May, go to the Whitney Biennial where we have an elevator installation. I hear it's great. Me, Mari and Eri will be going in mid-April to see the show and do the meet-and-greet with curators and art stars. I launched spring products for Good Together and sent out spring catalogs to magazines and stores. Lots of work, but worth it! What else? Still loving the idea of Portland, so we'll see where Josh and I are at this time next year. . . . 02 Feb 2004 It's winter here, which means alot of rain. A good time to spend inside, so I am busy working on redesigning Learning To Love You More for the upcoming Whitney Biennial. It will be quite different, so get ready. Super big thanks to Mitsu for all the help, you're the best. Am also busy working on spring products for Good Together. We will have a few more stores selling our wares too, which is nice. I hope to be visiting San Diego in the next month to see L2LYM in the "Baja to Vancouver" show at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art and to visit my sister ERI's new place. She and Dan are busy scraping and painting. Dan will be my first brother-inlaw this year too, which is very exciting. . . . 18 Jan 2004 Happy new year. We've launched another site, those three PDX ladies have it going on: Sleater-Kinney, the official website. Super big thanks to Corin, Carrie and Janet, especially Carrie for being the greatest. I'll miss you guys when you move back. . . . 09 Dec 2003 New work is up on the WORK page. Hmm... what else? Busy sewing and knotting buttons for Good Together. Our products look so great in the new issue of ReadyMade. Now we are getting orders -WEEE ! Everyone must make a joyful sound for us to install at the upcoming Whitney Biennial in March. More details to come later, but for now send me your sound(s). In other news, I am busy working on the new Sleater-Kinny site, due to launch in January. Everything is looking good. . . . 24 Nov 2003 Happy Holidays! We will be having a nice mellow Thanksgiving at Mari and Jesse's house. I'm in charge of potatoes. Good Together is in full holiday swing. Our products were featured in the holiday issues of Bust Magazine and Readymade. So exciting! We are busy making more inventory to fill orders and sell at special holiday events. Visit the site to read about upcoming sales in the Bay Area. . . . 29 Oct 2003 Very exciting news - Learning To Love You More has been chosen to be in the 2004 Whitney Biennial. What an honor; we are so proud. Other news is that I will be working on some exciting new projects, including the official website for the very talented ladies of Sleater-Kinney. Look out for that sometime in the new year! . . . 09 Oct 2003 A new site has launched - Adam McCauley - such a talented person and a good friend. It was a pleasure to work on his new site. Josh and I are leaving for Paris soon - we are so very excited. Mari will look after our many things and animals while we are away. What would we do without her? Good Together is plugging right along - we've discounted many of our products, and are now available in more stores out on the West Coast. We are gearing up for the holiday season - look for our products in the gift-giving issues of Bust and Readymade magazines. . . . 07 Aug 2003 Wow, many things happening over here. I never feel like I'm caught up. And summer's almost over, and I haven't gone camping. Two site launches this week, a pretty one and a frenetic one. Ariella has a way with flowers. Good Together is still plugging along, more products being added. Mom is in the mix now, her Bernina's been humming along in Hawaii, stitching up checkbook and travel folders. Nathaniel and KB were just in town, and I am missing them. KB showed us her new video piece, and it's rockin. Swingin' cans on top of a mountain in Mittenwald. Ah, Bavaria. . . . 17 Jun 2003 Good Together is here! . . . 27 May 2003 New changes will be afoot very soon... in a month or so look out in this space for a brand new Good Together. Need an easy domain name to remember? How about Good-Together.com - soon to be your one stop shop for all things that are good together (along with you of course.) Big thanks to Maria, who is helping me always with the who-what-when-where-and-whys of it all. Okay, I'm blabbering now. . . . 13 May 2003 Oh my goodness. I'm almost recovered from the weekend blitz of sewing and shipping out around 100 zipper wallets. Many many thanks to my A-team crew of sew-ers: Maria, Josh, Jovan and visiting Peter. Thanks to MODS for juice! And BUMPS, my ever-faithful mascot and muse. . . . 08 May 2003 I had a very nice birthday, thank you. Had a nice dinner with family and then got to see my favorite Bonnie Prince Billy rock out in Pt Reyes. . . . 06 May 2003 Very thankfully 33 today. Many things happening, please look around you. Let me know/ Jovan says that the planets are aligned now and to be a taurus is significant. Special thanks to Miranda for letting me recycle our design. . . . 16 Apr 2003 Very exciting: Learning To Love You More is going to be a part of the 10/03 AIGA conference on Design & Sustainability. We will be creating an assignment especially for this occassion, and it will be featured on the conference website (as well as the usual place). A very nice lady named Tsia welcomed us and her company, F L A T is also contributing. 05 Apr 2003 Recent news:
. . . Mar 2003 Good Together is now in stores! Our little things are being taken care of down in Los Angeles, at the lovely shop PLASTICA. Carla is a very nice lady, and she sends colorful cutout pictures with her checks.
